Chronology of cameras Chinon
Perhaps running out of ideas, Chinon adopted a new naming convention for its models starting in 1986. These are now called "Auto," followed by a number ending in 1.
All of these are motorized compact cameras with autofocus and flash. They differ in their lenses and the presence of an automatic framing system.
The first models in this new series still have a design very similar to the last Chinon 35 models, with angular shapes and a flash dependent on the protection cover. The subsequent models become more rounded, following the trend of the time.

In parallel with this series, Chinon marketed a series of simpler cameras whose names start with Auto GL.

Chinon was the first manufacturer, in 1988, to integrate multi-beam autofocus into one of its compact cameras, the Auto 3001. This was followed by a series of models incorporating this innovation. The Auto 6001, introduced in 1991, tops off the range.
Its 38-90 mm zoom lens features a built-in UV filter. The autofocus allows for focusing from 1 meter to infinity.
Like other models from the brand, this one features original framing. However, where there used to be one program, there are now two. One is intended for long focal length framing, while the other is for flash use at short focal lengths. Manual framing remains possible.
